Statement of Solidarity with Denali Dasgupta

The Executive Committee of United Northwest Side has voted to issue the following statement of solidarity in support of Denali Dasgupta’s campaign to serve as the next Alderperson of the 39th Ward.  

Residents of the 39th Ward have the opportunity to elect a leader with a true vision for the future of Chicago: Denali Dasgupta.  Denali is committed to fully funded public schools and early childhood development, a holistic approach to public safety that does not rely on doubling down on the failed strategies of overpolicing and invasive technology, and proactive strategies to confront the causes and effects of climate change.  Denali is running against an incumbent who has spent the last four years voting with Lori Lightfoot and the City Council’s right-wing bloc to stymie community efforts to enact police reform and create long-term solutions to homelessness.  Denali Dasgupta is the leader the 39th Ward needs, and we are proud to stand in solidarity with her.
